I graduated with a BA Honours in Graphic Design from the Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) in 2010. I trained for 2 years under the creative direction of Phil Carter and strategic direction of Phil Wong (Carter Wong). I left to start my own consultancy as a freelance graphic designer in 2012, working directly for clients and working with heavyweight clients such as Tesco, Endomol Shine Group and Cathay Pacific.
After 6 years, and looking to explore new horizons beyond brand identity design, I joined the ‘Invention’ team at Mindshare (WPP), under the creative direction of Neil Furmston (CD) and Becky Power (ECD). Mindshare opened up many new doors of creative exploration – working on multi-channel media campaigns that typically included; TV partnerships, out-of-home ads, video storyboarding and art direction, website design, experiential design, mobile and voice apps, print, branding and social campigns.
After 2 great years at Mindshare I have sinced returned to freelancing full-time, looking now to venture more into UX design. I’m currently freelancing for various clients and agencies – including Red Apple Creative, where I am primarily involved in UX and visual design for brand partnerships with Spotify. I am also freelancing directly for various clients and agencies in the areas of brand identity and packaging design, UX and digital design and website development.
Each project I work on is an opportunity to do some amazing work that connects a businesses with it’s audience. I follow a strategic approach; identify your brand’s strengths and weaknesses, get to know your company culture and research your audience, competition, and the current market. I then explore intelligent and meaningful graphic design concepts that bridge the gap between your business and your consumer.
A brand design or marketing campign has one main purpose – which is to drive a measurable increase in audience engagement that results in increased sales. In some cases this may just require only a seasonal promotion – in others it may require a complete change of the audience’s perceptions about a brand or what it stands for. In all cases – it is important to put the audience at the heart of every campign.
I keep my schedule busy but I’m normally availabe to start a new project within 1-2 weeks of consultation (for large projects) or within 48 hours for smaller projects. If you have a project that you would like to discuss please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
